Americans spending more on Independence Day this year

(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - There's a good chance there will be more fireworks in the sky this year than in previous years.
According to a survey by Visa, Americans plan to spend more on Independence Day celebrations this year.
The average person expects to spend about $300 for food, travel, fireworks, and other festivities.
That's a 58 percent increase from last year.
People in the northeast plan to spend the most cash, at $454 on average.
Meanwhile, people in the midwest are spending the least, at $195 per person.
