WASHINGTON (Sinclair Broadcast Group) - Peace in the Middle East. It has been unreachable since the end of World War II.

The Trump administration is undertaking a full scaled effort to break the trend and bring long standing stability to the region.

Senior Advisor Jared Kushner recently completed a trip which took him and other senior U.S. officials to Israel and Palestine, as well as - vitally, to Saudi Arabia, Egypt, United Arab Emirates, Jordan and Qatar.

The Trump administration sees the road to peace between Israel and Palestine as a multi-tiered effort that includes enlisting the support of the Arab world.

A key incremental goal is to bring together Gaza and the West Bank under single Palestinian leadership.

The Trump administration hopes to then have its partners in the Arab world pressure a united Palestine to truly commit to peace.

The U.S. will continue to engage in diplomatic efforts to ensure engagement from the Israelis.

This multilateral approach to peace is creative and has a realistic shot at success.

Many of the Arab states, such as United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia, have relatively new leadership which is more open to cooperating with Israel than their predecessors.

The bottom line is this: President Trump, Jared Kushner and their team are taking a new path to a worthy cause of peace between Israel and Palestine. By having the help of certain Arab states, the United States has a true chance to achieve incremental breakthroughs which, in turn, may very well lead to the long elusive result of peace in the Middle East.
