SPCA hosts 'Operation: Silent Night'

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - If you're looking for a way to give back this Christmas, consider opening your heart to a pet in need.

The SPCA of Southwest Michigan is holding its first ever Operation: Silent Night.

They're reaching out in hopes that people would foster dogs on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day so they can have a home for the holidays.

There are currently 120 dogs in the shelter.

"Although we have a wonderful shelter, the life in a cage is still no place for a dog," said SPCA Executive Director Katie Timber.

The SPCA hopes some permanent adoptions will occur as a result of the event.
