Kellogg teaming up with Wal-Mart for sustainable growing practices

(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Kellogg is teaming up with Wal-Mart to create more sustainable growing practices around the world, specifically when it comes to rice.

Rice is a staple for more than half of the world's population, but it's only grown by a small number of farmers.

Kellogg hopes that by teaming up with Wal-Mart, they will be able to help farmers improve their methods.

Kellogg Chief Executive John Bryant made the collaboration announcement during the recent Wal-Mart Sustainable Product Expo.

Together, they hope by 2020, there will be a 25 percent increase in climate smart agriculture practices by rice farmers.
